Animal Control

Fees / Impound Fees

  • First Offense $15.00 plus $3.00 per day boarding fee.
  • Second Offense $30.00 plus $3.00 per day boarding fee.
  • Third Offense $50.00 plus $3.00 per day boarding fee.
  • Fourth Offense $75.00 plus $3.00 per day boarding fee.


    • Fees Adoption

  • Puppies $10.00 five months - older $28.00 includes pre-paid rabies license fees: spayed /neutered $ 4.00 not altered $10.00.
  • Licenses are in effect from January to December.
  • Current proof of rabies is required upon licensing.

    • License renewal cards are sent to owners in December at which time license renewal can be done by mail, coming to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office 50 West Fifth Street or going to the Animal Shelter.
